Brenda Skidmore's Health Tips

The human race has some rather ambiguous qualities, don't you think? One of the main ones is, that we are forever trying to make things better for ourselves, and we are always trying to be better understood. There is nothing wrong with this, I might add, as that is part of the grand scheme of life. As the predominant, thinking species on this planet, we are all instinctively seeking abundance.

We are naturally meant to think bigger. The line of thinking goes like this...if a little of this or that is good, then how much better will more be? Unfortunately, the trouble with this way of thinking is it can often lead to a feeling of emptiness. One can feel overwhelmed by too much of a good thing, especially when it comes to material possessions. Reminds me of the words to a song sung by ELO, love is like oxygen, you get to much and you'll get too high, not enough and your gonna die. I would much rather be high on the simple pleasures of life than the stuff that does not matter or cost me very much.

Thinking bigger and better can be a human frailty, and sometimes it can produce fantastic results. Just like anything else, though, that way of thinking will not always work in every situation. A balance of power must be reached, every now and then, to get the full effect of a well-rounded feeling of true appreciation. Sometimes, it is the small and simple things, or the least amount, that can bring the most satisfaction of enjoyment.

Being able to recognize this, is in itself, is an enriching experience!

Ordinary, everyday life examples can be: being able to see the beauty in one single, and perfect flower can bring just as much enjoyment as a whole greenhouse full of them. Or, a how a black, new moon sky full of tiny lighted sparkles can be just as awesome as a man-made fireworks show. And, how about the brilliant discovery you made, maybe at mid-life, as you have grown to understand the real opportunities that came from your past failures in attempting to cultivate romantic relationships.

You get the idea, it's a matter of thinking for yourself outside the box. It doesn't matter what examples I use, I'm sure you can think of many more on your own. In this context, you have become a rich person. You may not have an abundance of money , or material possessions, but you can find the wealth in just being alive. It is when we can begin to appreciate some of life's, uncontrollable, hard knocks as just simple growing pains, no more, and no less.

This level of maturity can happen to a person at any age. I've seen it in young people, surprisingly, who seem very old and wise for their age. In that same respect, I've witnessed childish acts displayed by much older people, who ought to know more, who act like children without much experience.

Given the fact that human existence on planet Earth has been here for thousands of years, you would think we would be learning more about why, and how, we came to exist here. When it comes to taking our available, and small amount of clean, unpolluted water supplies seriously, we seem to be still in the infancy stages of our existence. Has nothing changed since the beginning of time? Is the love of money, possessions, and power more important than our survival?

How does water impact many of the simple pleasures of life, that many of us have grown to appreciate and be grateful for? Well, as I mentioned in the few examples listed above, this is my limited view on water's important role in them.

Without clean or abundant water resources, that one single flower, or any other plant food, that brings a feeling of satisfaction to your thoughts and a smile to your face, would not exist.
Without water, your eyes would not be able to properly see those beautiful star lights on a black velvety sky.
Without water, your physical wellbeing, emotions, and spiritual aspirations will not be realized.
Water is the continuation of life or death of human life existence on this planet. How long is it going to take before the collective human consciousness understands this? Hopefully, before it is too late.

If we do not wake up and GROW up real soon, and start cleaning up our act, we are in real eminent danger of annihilating ourselves! That's no joke, and it won't matter who thought it was acceptable to dump this or that in the ground, nobody will be here to blame. We will all be history!
