Why do we have so much trouble with it? Sixty-nine percent of Americans suffer from some type of a sleep disorder. Insomnia (the lack of being able to fall asleep or inability to stay asleep) is the single most complaint. We rush to doctors to help us with it, and they accommodate us with a prescription for a chemical solution.

Sleep drugs are so very popular!

I don't know about you, but I have tried many different ones. Tranqilizers are very addictive, antidepressants are questionable for addictiveness (especially the reuptake inhibitors, and I tried "Ambien" (it did not work for me) and it was laughably to expensive.

I started reading about what I could do to get a grip on it naturally. It took quite while, and with a lot of trial and error, I finally managed to get my blissful sleep back. Lifestyle changes are very good to help you, try some or all of these:

Establish a regular routine for going to bed and getting up – this reinforces your natural sleep/wake cycle.
Avoid caffeine and nicotine. One cup of coffee in the morningwill not hurt you but stay away from these stimulants at least six hours before bedtime.
Take it easy on alcohol. One drink might help you relax, to much however, can cause you to awaken to early.
Eat enough but not too much, it's hard to sleep while your body is digesting a heavy meal.
Exercise early in the day, but not within 3 hours of bedtime.
Create a sleep friendly environment. A completely dark and quiet room, comfortable bed, and a room temperature between 60 to 65 degrees works great for most people.
Stay away from computers, televisions, and work related tasks an hour or two before bedtime.
Cultivate spirituality in your life, try to turn around that lack of control feeling you may have over your life, and release it to a higher power. This will relieve your need to control every aspect of your world.

Investigate herbs and nutrients

Valerian root, passionflower, skullcap, and chamomile are most helpful.
Nutrients like inositol, gaba, taurine, calcium, magnesium, and vitamin B6 work well too.

I bought an audio CD and took up meditating. I learned rather quickly to relax using audio technology that uses binaural beats to increase the electrical and energy activity patterns in the brain. This will train both hemispheres of your brain to resonate to the binaural beats resulting in “whole brain synchronization”. You can train your brain to relax naturally and this will improve your ability to sleep.

I implemented Dr. Batmanghelidj's water therapy for over all better physical health. If you are having difficulty sleeping try this tip from the book “Your Body's Many Cries For Water”, drink a glass of water and use a pinch of salt on your tongue. Usually within a few minutes you should notice a calming effect. It is believed that this combination alters the rate of electrical discharge inside the brain, thus inducing sleepiness. A cup of yogurt before bedtime seems to help also.

The best move I made however, involved allowing myself to let go of people and situations I could not control. Letting go was hard, very hard, but I gave myself permission to let a higher power handle what I could not.

I learned to let go of other people's problems and quit taking it personally. It helped me to release a lot of worry that kept me awake at night. Learning I could not be what everyone wanted me to be, or be everywhere for someone else at all times, or take on responsibilities for others that were clearly their's and not mine, released me enough to just be responsible for me!

Wow, between the physical and emotional changes I made, my sleep returned. It does take approaching it from both angles sometimes. Dig deeper, find out what is hanging you up.

Brenda Skidmore's Health Tips

Did you know as of right now the United States is spending nearly $2 trillion on health care? The projections are that it will double that in less than 10 years. Even though we spend a massive amount of money on disease management which is mostly focused on drugs and surgery, our return on this investment is rather poor.

More and more people are suffering than ever before in our nation's history, because of one main reason. They are violating basic health principles. Have they forgotten what they learned in high school health classes? Does anyone think that we can keep eating nutrient deficient foods and expect to remain illness or disease free?

Here is a quote from the late health reporter Nick Regush, and what his take on the situation was:

"There is no way to be nice about this. There is no point in raising false hopes. There is no treatment or vaccine in sight. There is no miracle breakthrough on the horizon. Medicine as we know it, is dying. It's entering a terminal phase".

If you have forgotten what you learned in school about fitness, health, and nutrition, maybe it's because our modern manufactured food industry spends as much money promoting their nutritionally stripped foods as the drug industry does advertising their worthless symptom masking drugs. Poor lifestyle choices and illness go hand in hand, and are often the results of a lack of basic health knowledge.

The brain in my opinion is without a doubt the hardest working organ in our bodies. It literally controls every conscious and unconscious function inside you. It should then occur to you, that it really only makes sense to learn what you can do to better care for it.

I have lived with a dear loved one for many years, that suffers from a major brain disorder (bipolar). Not once did the many medical doctors that treated him, examine his diet. Not once! Medications have not served him well, and neither has his lack of appreciation for a better more nutritionally balanced diet.

He has chosen instead, to eat what he wants (junk food and sugar are addictive), drinks what he wants (alcohol and caffeine are addictive), and continues to suffer the consequences of his actions from his lack of knowledge.

I lived this way too, for many years. I ate and drank basically nothing that helped me retain physical health. The emotional stress of coping with a major mental illness in a loved one, coupled with poor lifestyle choices, made me sick! Mentally and physically sick.

With several years of reading, studying, and learning about nutritional and other natural options, I finally managed to overcome my dependence for prescription tranquilizers and antidepressants. Now I know that my physical health is within my control. It always was, I just had to get out of the "conventional medicine trap", and explore what in my mind, made more sense.

Did you know that you can moderately indulge in a small amount of junk food, alcohol, even tobacco? It really doesn't harm you to occasionally partake of these substances. Going overboard on any of these however, is quite easy to do, so use your common sense. Always be consciously aware that to much is not good for you.

We all have the need to be a little bad once in a while. Satisfy that need so you don't become to obsessed. Besides we're all here to live and have fun, to much bad fun however, can make you sick.

Brenda Skidmore's Health Tips

Ten million Americans are said to be suffering from mental disturbances in some form or another. Still yet there are even greater numbers that are experiencing the milder forms of depression.

Now I'm not talking about the normal every once in a while rainy day blues. Sometimes depression is productive in that it helps move us forward as individuals. It's a natural form of development in that by coping with our negative feelings we gain strength and character in learning valuable problem solving skills.

What's not normal is emotional stress or memory loss that interferes with daily functioning. Memory loss that has become severe enough that you can't remember where you are going and get lost while driving, or can't remember what you needed to buy after getting into a store. Emotional stress in coping with exaggerated feelings of fear, anxiety, anger, or persistent relationships problems. These examples are truly a cause for concern in yourself or anyone you care about.

Medications like antidepressants, antipsychotics, and mood stabilizers are extremely expensive, produce unwanted side effects, and do not address the underlying cause for the disturbance. State and federal cuts are being severely rationed every year, leaving millions of people suffering in the name of profits. That wouldn't be so bad if they actually worked well, but for most people with severe emotional disturbances these medications leave many feeling flat, emotionless, blunted, and no empathy for themselves or others.

During hot weather months these drugs can impair the body's ability to cool itself by reducing sweating, and promote fluid loss by dehydrating you. In "Your Body's Many Cries For Water" Dr. Batmanghelidj says that a vast majority of many frequently used medications are either directly or indirectly strong antihistamines. The strongest variety are used in the discipline of psychiatry and for patients with depression.

While it is true that regular exercise, socializing with close friends, meditating, and diet strategies are useful and helpful in inhancing normal brain functioning, one diet necessity is often overlooked completely by most people.

WATER No one seems to understand the importance that pure water has on our brains or the rest of our bodies. When you read Dr. B's short book on this subject, you will learn dehydration ALONE affects our brains, as well as the rest of us, by putting us in a stressful state of sickness. The more stressed our bodies become, the more dehydrated we become.

You can stop this vicious cycle, and when you do, you will discover that Dr. B's knowledge (20 years worth) on this subject rings true. You will learn that modern medicine has most likely known this all along, not doctors themselves, as they are taught by an industry known as big Pharma. A well kept secret that they have knowingly kept from you, so they can continue to earn millions off other's physical sufferings.

Now someone who is suffering from a severe memory loss or emotional disturbance can not maintain healthy personal relationships, it's that simple. If they chosse not to correct the physical cause, then you may need to examine whether you want to continue a unhealthy relationship with them. The physical cause can be addressed with more natural solutions. When it is not. their unnormal behavior will affect the way they think and feel about themselves and towards you.

To learn more about how you can take more control over your situation check out this link
http://www.mcssl.com/app/aftrack.asp?afid=471666&u=www.stayorgo.com

Brenda Skidmore's Health Tips

Not long ago I read a most interesting article on one of my favorite websites mercola.com" this article was telling us that friends more than family can help us live longer and healthier lives.

I identified with this so closely, as I know it to be so very true. I value my close friendships in all areas of my life. I have a wonderful network of close friends and family that help me cope with my day to day large and small struggles in just being here on planet Earth.

Friends help you through personal losses like the death of a spouse, child or parent. Friends help you get over feelings of loneliness due to a dear friend or child moving away to a new job or school that may take them far away from you.

Friends it is believed also encourage more positive behaviors in us. We lean towards making better lifestyle choices such as not eating to much, make smarter diet choices, and not smoking or drinking to much.

Families sometimes however, do not support our efforts or desires to lead a healthier and happier lifestyle. The lack of health and longevity within familial relationships may be due in part to the tendency in some people to rely to heavily on family for support when their physical health is failing.

Family relationships are not always the centers of love we wish them to be. All to often there are to many arguments, resentments, and subtle abuses taking place. The affect this can have on your mental and physical health can truly make you sick!

Love is the strongest and most sought after emotion we all strive to have in our lives. We are so attracted to it and desire it so much, that whether it comes from friends, family, or somewhere else, it helps promote healthier, happier, and longer lives. It is one of your greatest health and longevity tools.

Unhealthy friendships are are much easier to leave and let go of. We've all had this experience at one time or another. When we realize that a close friendship, that maybe we've had for a long time, is no longer healthy or good for us we feel a real disappointment. Sure we may agonize for a while, but eventually we know we need to let go and move on.

In families and intimate relationships leaving and letting go is much harder to do. Unfortunately we tend to make excuses for them. We thus enable ourselves and them to continue unhealthy relationship patterns that remain a vicious cycle, until we open up ourselves to the possibility of change. We tend to hold on to outdated myths and beliefs that clearly hold us back and limit our potential. To have more loving relationships to be able to come to us, we need to let go of outdated thoughts that no longer serve us well.

Some of these thoughts you may be familiar with like, in my religious faith a divorce is viewed as unacceptable or, if I try a little harder maybe I can fix them and, they really don't want to be this way to me maybe if I don't encourage this kind of behavior they'll understand their hurting everyone and quit. There are many more limiting thoughts that hold you back, these are only a few.

From my experience with a mentally ill spouse who also has a substance abuse problem, and in denial of it all, this kind of thinking on my part was not working well for me, nor getting me what I wanted. It was also limiting my chances at ever accomplishing it at all with anyone else.

Then I happened on to a really great book. After successfuly addressing my physical health issues and turning that part of my ill health around, I was ready to open my mind to takle my mental health and happiness. I read a book written by Otto and Susie Collins called "Should You Stay or Should You Go".

This book was my starting point at examining my unhappy and troubled relationship with my partner. Susie and Otto are also in my opinion, very gifted personal relationship coaches. They helped me gain a new understanding of some of the most important issues that I needed to consider when making such a life changing decision.

Staying or leaving a troubled relationship is a tough call for many of us, but remember the advantages of loving and healthy relationships are well documented. Unhealthy ones should not be held on to by giving them excuses to keep you unhappy, unhealthy, or stuck there forever. Check out this link when you decide your ready to explore your truth. http://www.mcssl.com/app/aftrack.asp?afid=471666&u=www.stayorgo.com

Brenda Skidmore's Health Tips

I read an interesting article recently that evoked a lot of uneasy feelings inside me. This article was about how conventional medicine sees a possible future in preventive drugs. Although it is only a vision in their minds at this point, they think in possibly a few decades they may be able to protect young people who are considered at risk for developing old age illnesses like Alzheimer's disease.

Consider the fact that they currently have no cure for this disease and so many others, I found it quite insulting that our current medical system as we know it today thinks they can protect young people from illnesses they have no cure for now.

Drug companies are starting to become more desperate to hold on to the gravey train they have been enjoying for so long. They would love nothing more than to create a new market for "protective drugs". That might just save them from the worthless non-curing sick care drugs they are now beginning to lose face on.

These same drug companies are sending their lawyers to court every day. They are trying to fight the many lawsuits that are being brought against them, by the innocent victims whose lives they have affected.

We have been led to believe for decades that a complex chemical solution is far better at handling illnesses and diseases than a simple corrective nutrient approach. Accepting their way of thinking has created a segment of industry in modern cultures that has padded many individual and corporate bank accounts and keeps tax money rolling in to fund government. Not to mention the mass suffering of many people accross the globe.

In comparing the nutrient approach to chemical substances , the difference is shockingly evident, it's all in the cost. The more effective choice is noticeably more cost effective, and drug companies know this. They can not rake in huge profits off natural substances. That would seriously affect their high profit margins.

I wonder what brain nutrients like omega-3 (fish oil) and pure water could do for the prevention of Alzheimer's disease, or other brain illnesses like depression, and attention deficit problems? Dehydration and omega-3 deficiencies are quite common in our modern day diets. We are not eating enough omega-3 rich foods or drinking nearly enough water daily to remain healthy.

I'm sure if drug companies could find a way to patent a natural substance (which of course they can't) they would be pricing a fish oil capsule at about $5. each, and at least $10. for a small bottle of water!

Brenda Skdimore's Health Tips

When I meet people and try to get to know them a little, I find that nearly everyone on this palnet has some sort of physical health complaint. Listening is a learned skill that anyone can develop to really get to know others better. In listening to what is bothering them with their health I get a chance to share a few things that I have learned about, on how to better deal with ill health.

Many times most of us, at one time or another, have had several health battles going on inside of us at once that made us feel totally overwhelmed on how to tackle any of them. My heart fills with compassion for each individual, and I find myself sometimes at a loss on how to relate to them that we have been manipulated and controlled by a greedy corporate industry. They promise us "end-all symptoms" surgeries and "magic-bullet" pills. The sad reality is pharmaceuticals will never cure an illness. They are not intended to (least they not be needed any longer). They only at best, hide the symptoms you are experiencing.

The trouble is we have let them brainwash us over the decades in believing that man can do a better job of curing sickness than nature. There is a lot of money to be made in this way of thinking and has made many people wealthy.

More likely than not, a nutritional and dehydration deficit issue is more likely to blame. It is more likely to be the common sense reason for the physical suffering. We have been exposed to a heavy advertising marketing campaign over the last ten years aimed at padding corporate and individual bank accounts.

You can fight back and take control of your health once again. It is highly possible for you to toss out some of those outdated beliefs that limit your success at acheiving good health! Avoid processed junk food as much as you can, eat more whole real foods, supplement your diet a little bit, and above all else, please address your inadequate WATER intake. Just because your are drinking other fluids that you believe is keeping you hydrated, there is no substitute for pure water. The most outdated belief of all of course, is the outright refusal to let go of "well, my doctor knows best and he or she can prescribe a pill that can help me".

Freeing yourself of these deceptive mind controlling thoughts, that have been bought and paid for, will clear your mind just enough to choose the common sense approch to supply yourself with what your body truly needs. It will most definitely bring about the results you are seeking and you won't have any trouble believing. Once you have gotten the positive results, you will be able see and feel it!

Throughout medical history conventional medicine has adopted many practices that over time had to be tossed out. The time is now ripe for a change in accepted medical practices. The industry is fast out pricing themselves as thousands of people can no longer afford their 'status quo' treatment. As natural and alternative options become more widely accepted by their degree of lower cost and the success they produce, conventional medicine as we know it today will eventually go down in history as yet another human error. Don't expect it to happen overnight, but the momentum is building and you to, will want to do your part by spreading the good news.

Brenda Skidmore's Health Tips

You know water is not a magical miracle cure, it's just plain common sense if you take the time to ponder it. I would never have dreamt that I was dehydrated. I drank water, but now I realize it was woefully inadequate. My excess weight problems, heartburn since childhood (which progressed on to acid reflux into adulthood), mild depression, joint tenderness and aches, and a general everyday sluggishness were merely signals that my body needed more water.

I wish I had known about water's benefits then, when I was suffering and wracking my thinking mind for answers to these health problems. Luckily I kept on trying. A few glasses of pure water a day doesn't even come close to the amount of water your body needs each day. Two quarts per day is actually the bare minimum and more is way better. Most importantly, do not wait until you feel thirsty to drink it! Have it available to you all day.

I thought because I had my coffee or hot tea in the mornings, and my orange juice with my breakfast that I was drinking water, as well as my iced tea in the afternoons. As you can tell, I liked tea, and then occasionally I would treat myself to a diet soda. I thought because these drinks had water in them that that was drinking fluids and staying hydrated. I drank when I was thirsty, and then I would include a glass of water every now and then because I knew it was good for me.

My diet on more days than not would have any nutritionist's mouth hang wide open. I was not real conscious of what I was eating or drinking. I was eating way to much processed junk food and not eating enough real whole foods, and I was definitely not drinking nearly enough water, as I look back I can see why I was sick!

All the misery I went through, treating these health problems with pharmaceuticals was NOT WASTED time. I learned from my mistakes and misinformation, I learned how to eat better and supplement my diet, and then I learned about proper body hydration.

What a difference, and the experience I had with the trial and error process...PRICELESS!

Brenda Skidmore's Health Care Tips

I am a people watcher. What I mean by that really is I'm always noticing how physically fit someone appears to be. I work in a convenience store and see a wide variety of people come and go. I also read a lot about health, diet, and nutrition, it's my past time.

At one time not all that long ago, I had excess weight issues of my own. I desperately tried so many ways to lose the extra pounds, but could not. By reading constantly, and trial and error, I finally became successful at losing my much despised weight gain.

I also used to judge people after I had lost my excess baggage, and wondered why they seemed to care so little about their weight. Working in a convenience store with the shelves stocked full of unhealthy food and beverages, I watch what people choose to eat and drink. Overweight people often do not consciously pay attention to their thirst. Although bottled water is available everywhere in the store, and they are obviously thirsty, why chose soft drinks or other high sugar or diet drinks? Then it occured to me...how do I know they don't care about their weight or other ill health circumstances?

Then another thought occured to me, they just don't know about waters true benefits. NO other single beverage can do so much for you for less money than water. In all of its simplicity water is overlooked and way under appreciated. If they only knew I thought to myself, they could benefit so much. My judgement then turned to sorrow.

Dehydration is such a common and rampant problem among the masses, that I have decided I had to gently encourage anyone who has an open mind to read and learn more on this subject. I promote the book that changed my life in hopes that others will break out of their ill health bondage.

What is this book? "Your Body's Many Cries For Water" by F. Diet products such as pills, food, programs, and books line the shelves in retail stores across the country.

Diets for the most part do not work, if they did people wouldn't be on them forever giving up one for another and switching from grapefruits to meat. They would simply accept one fact, that one simple strategy works: Eat less junk food, eat a more balanced diet including foods from each food group daily, consume a lot less manufactured beverages, drink mostly water three quarters of the time as your main daily fluid intake, and exercise more, end of story.

Books that proclaim to have the best diet ideas to use in acheiving weight loss are expensive. Diet books are written by individuals hoping to make a life's fortune by releasing a supposed self-discovered mysterious truth. The titles of some of these books are actually funny. How about this one, "Japanese Women Don't Get Old or Fat" by Naomi Moriyama & William Doyle ( Delaconte Press, 274 pages, $22.) or this one "Mediterranean Women Stay Slim Too" by Melissa Kelly with Eve Adamson ( Collins, 326 pages, $22.). Health and fitness books are estimated to earn about $530 billion in sales this year, up from $510 million in 2005, diet secrets are among one of the healthiest categories in publishing.

How about purchasing only one more book to end all other unnecessary spending on future dieting dilemma products ever? The book I'm telling you about is "Your Body's Many Cries For Water" by F. Batmanghelidj, M.D. This book sells for only $14.95 plus shipping new on Amazon.com, and can even be purchased for less as a used book. I guarantee the book is an eye opener, and it works, period! Water is the best and most natural appetite supressor in the world. It is what your body truly needs to end its struggling and suffering of excess weight problems, and so many others. You just might feel an absolute high on water that you will want to spread the good news to your family and friends! Don't be to hard on them if at first they don't believe you. You just may have to prove a substancial weight loss to get their attention.

The idea of using this strategy is almost to simplistic for most humans to grasp in this high tech generation. Man has ignorantly assumed that other tastier beverages can inhance human health, that even meal replacement beverages can induce weight loss. That is absurdly insane, as water can and does keep weight in line and you don't have to skip real meals to benfit. But water in its simplicity does not earn huge profits in the market shares. Unless of course if someone thinks ahead into the future and learns how important water really is to health and figures out a way to corner the market on a pure uncontaminated source. Then how much would water be worth?

Here's your link to purchasing your copy of one of our times most life changing books on health.
A http://www.amazon.com

Brenda Skidmore's Health Tips

Your health belongs totally to you. No one else is resposible for it. Thinking you can trust the muti-national drug corporations with your health is insane. They are commited to corporate shareholders and maximizing profits. They really don't care about how testing turns out on human subjects. How can you trust their drug trials at all, there are so many cover-ups? Why do you think 'Merk' is taking such a beating in court over 'Vioxx'? This isn't the only drug companmy guilty of doing this !

Ask yourself this, where does daily use of pharmaceuticals fit in with common health problems such as high blood pressure, allergies, asthma, depression? Nothing period, except profits in big pharma's pockets.

Now I'm not saying that drugs are never necessary, there are times when they are definitely life saving. What I am saying is that use of them daily and indefinitely for common health complaints are totally unnecessary. There are simpilar solutions to get you off these drugs.

Learning a different approach in how to take care of yourself is really the only choice you have. Learning proven science based knowledge in what the human body needs daily to function properly in vitamins, minerals, omegs-3, amino acids, enzimes, and adequate water intake is a great step in the Right Direction!

Adding a good multi-vitamin mineral supplement once or twice a day even in a healthy diet is a smart move, knowing that even whole foods often times are deficient of naturally occuring vitamin and mineral content due to modern farming practices.

I personally use 'Nutrilite' daily, it's a water soluble tablet, which means, that what your body doesn't need you will excrete out in your urine. I have also tried 'Nutilite' 'Double X ' formula and the energy boost is fantastic. There is a noticeable difference in price between thes two supplements so let your budget be your guide. Remember that by adding WATER to your supplements you will insure that all these wonderful nutrients will get to their destination to where they are needed, and you will benefit so much more from your investment!

Here's your link to look at or purchase a high quality whole food supplement A http://www.bskidmore.qhealthzone.com

Brenda Skidmore's Health Tips

The late Dr. F. There are those who are now dependent on multiple pharmaceuticals to treat everything, every symptom that they have, and who alter their body chemistry, and their brain chemistry through drugs, and then there are those who are educating themselves about the true causes of health. They're drinking water, they're avoiding food additives, they're engaging in exercise-it seems like there's a chasm that's widening between these two groups".

Dr. B's comment was "absolutely. That is the act of talking to yourself about yourself, and it is called "self talk". It makes whatever you are experiencing more "internally" real. Self talk can work for you or against you, so the goal you need to create for yourself, is to have it work "for you". Positive self talk can provide a great sense of control over any situation.

Now most people will not admit to talking to themselves, but we all do it...and most of the time we are not consciously aware that we're doing it! It's in the little everyday day things that you think about all day long. It's in the belief system you have latched on to, whether it's yours or someone else's. We all play a fact or fiction game in our heads every day.

Just be mindfull of what you are thinking and saying about yourself. Tune into that mind chatter, be consciously aware of the beliefs in the form of self talk that you are giving yourself. If changing that negative chatter feels strange or even uncomfotable to you at first, have patience, it takes time. "Fake until you make it", know that any change like this in the beginning feels different.

Have you ever told yourself "I just can't lose weight" or "I'll never get my blood pressure normal", that's negative self talk. Negative self talk undermines your ability to succeed. The idea is to replace negative with positive.

Don't hijack yourself on this, it only takes one "if", can't, won't, could of, should of,would of to get hijacked from your goal. Use instead present tense statements like I am, I will, I can. Repetition in thinking and talking to yourself positively is the "key" in creating more of what you want in your life from health to relationships, and more money. Try it, it works!

From vitamins to minerals, and all other of nature's essential nutrients, and most importantly WATER, you can most definitely create abundant physical health!

Check out this great supplement at: http://www.bskidmore.qhealthzone.com

Brenda Skidmore's Health Tips

What do you and all other living things on this palnet have in common? All living things including you must have water to survive. We seem to take it for granted most of the time, as many of us tend to not think about drinking to much of it. Water is so necessary that a couple of days without it, and we're history! Literally. You can survive much longer without food, but take away your water and you'll not make it for long. Water is the basic substance that flows through your entire body as it is 75 percent of your total body weight, the other 25 percent is solid matter like the minerals that make up your bones and fat. The brain is said to be 85 percent water.

Water is the basic substance that your juices in your digestive tract are made of, so you can digest food properly. It's the main ingredient in urine that carries wastes and toxins out of your body. When the urine you are excreting is clear ( almost no color) your body is properly hydrated. When you take a quality water soluble multi vitamin mineral supplement tablet your urine will have a dark yellow color when you pee the next time. Don't be alarmed this is normal. Keep drinking water and it will soon turn clear again. It is very important to drink plenty of water every day, especially during the summer months, and during and after exercise. Sweating causes water in perspiration to come through the body's skin in a normal temperature regulating system.

In the circulatory system water again is the main ingedient in lymph, a fluid that is carried by the lymphatic system, which is sort of like a second circulatory system.

Lack of water is the cause of most knee , elbow, and back pain. Everywhere we bend, twist and move are where there are joints that need to be kept lubricated. If we don't they hurt, and most of know only to well how bad this can make you feel. It works kind of like this, when we have a squeaky car door or wheel, we naturally apply oil to lubricate and stop the sqeaking, to keep the parts from rubbing together. In the body joint pain is a sign of deydration and you need to apply water to the rubbing bones or"joints". Surrounding joints is a sack that needs to be kept hydrated or full so the joint can withstand the pressure of moving.

Water is absolutely the most healthful and beneficial drink to be drinking most of the time. It's needed through out your body for every function it performs daily, without you even being aware of it. The water inside your body has to be replenished every day because it is contantly leaving your body through the skin, breathing, urinating, and bowel movements.

Don't let the lure of other beverages distract you from conciously choosing water 3/4 of the time. It's a must for good health. There are a few downsides to drinking a lot of water through out the day and one of them is you will be hunting a restroom often. The upsides are many in abundant health though, and you may be pleasantly surprized or even amazed at some of your nagging health complaints that either improve a great deal or disappear altogether. The trade off should be easy to deal with!

Want to learn more about water the most impotant nutrient of all? Read "Your Body's many Cries for Water" by F. Batmangheligj, M.D.

Brenda Skidmore's Health Tips

Safe drinking water is something that you should not take for granted!

I live in the country and I rely on a private well to meet my drinking water needs. It is a wise decision to have that well tested for safety which I did over 15 years ago. Knowing that the well was about 40 years old and, cased with metal pipe and, it was only about 100 feet deep, concerned me on what might be in my tap water.

Surrounded by flat pasture ground (a unique spot) on the edge of rolling hills in the Missouri Ozarks, with cattle grazing all arround my house, prompted me to question how safe my drinking water really was. Water that you think would be perfectly fine to drink, as it has no obvious odor or taste, can be misleading and harmful to drink.

I went to my local county University of Missouri Extension office and they provided me with a water testing sample kit. What we found was higher than recommended amounts of nitrates in the well water. So many parts per million is how it is measured, and my well water was over that safe level to be drinking. Nitrates by the way comes from chemical fertilizers that are applied to soils for growing crops, as in my case grass for hay to feed cattle.

A metal casing that lines the hole of the well is most likely the problem because of its age, it is probably littered with tiny rust holes allowing ground surface water to leak in the water supply. Even if you have a recently drilled well cased with plastic pipe, a test of that water would bring you peace of mind in knowing exactly how safe your main source of drinking water is. Other factors that can allow ground serface water into your well are lose well caps, well defects, or through cracks in underground rocks.

Some common contaminants are forms of bacteria found in soils caused by human or animal wastes. Pesticides that are applied to farm crops or lawns is another potential well contaminant. I had a reverse osmosis drinking water system installed after the tests cme back on my well water. I keep the filters changed as recommended. If you've tested in the past and everything was o.k. then, test again in a few years. Test during wet weather when the ground is saturated, it is the best time to test.

Since water is the best fluid to be drinking and giving yourself every single day, make double sure that your main source of drinking water at home is safe to drink. Most of us already know you can't trust water quality away from home so we choose bottled water over tap. Quality drinking water will become a huge priority in the future as more people will come to understand how truly life giving and important it is to our survival!

Brenda Skidmore's Health Tips

Whenever I pick up a syndicated newspaper, in my part of the world it's the Springfield, MO, News-Leader, you have an opportunity to glean through it and decide how much of what you read is fact or fiction. That can be a tough call, if you don't know what to look for.

Here's an example of fact:

A ground breaking new study suggests that household cleaners and air fresheners-especially those with pine, orange, and lemon scents-may emit harmful levels of toxic pollutants. Exposure to some of these pollutants and their by products may exceed regulatory guidelines when used repeatedly in small poorly ventilated rooms. Just a 15 minute exposure to a known air contaminent (glycol ethers) in a poorly ventilated space means you have exceeded the recommended one-hour exposure limit.

Using air freshener in a room with an air purifier that creates ozone can result in 25% formaldehyde levels, higher than recommended. Formaldehyde is a known carcinogen. If you are a professional house cleaner, heads up, this is information that is important to your health.

This 4 year study was done by the University of California-Berkeley. University studies are best in my book when it comes to health, as they aren't trying to promote any kind of product or service, and use an unbiased approach.

Here's an example of fiction:

Government researchers plan to recruit 10,000 American Women for a clinical trial designed to evaluate which breast cancer patients need chemotherapy, and which ones can safely avoid the harsh treatment without risking a recurrence. This is clearly a biased trial, as it is government financed, and is being pushed by the American Cancer Institute to refine cancer therapy by matching specific treatments to the characteristics of different cancer cells. They say in this article that recent advances have become possible by molecular biology, computer-based technology, and completion of the human genome project, will make it easier to help doctors prescribe treatment to each individual breast cancer patient.

Really, do you believe that novel treatments for cancer and other major diseases is all in the hands of modern technology? If this were true, how come cancer is no better cured now than it was twenty years ago? In fact it's even rising. Doesn't it make more sense to investigate natural diertary approaches for prevention and cures, as opposed to expensive and non-curing methods? You truly have to judge what you read now days, and take your own health into your own hands. Where does water fit into your life and disease states?

Find this book, "Your Bodies Many Cries for Water", read, learn, and apply it to your health today. You may be pleasantly surprized at the results even thrilled that a simple approach could reveal so much. If you try what is suggested in this book and it doesn't do anything for you, what have you lost? But if you take the time to open your mind to the possibility and it does work for you what have you gained? A new found knowledge that you can share with others in your life. I'm curious by nature, and I usually keep an open mind most of the time, that natural curiosity paid off big time when I purchased and read this book. It can for you too, if you approach it with an open mind!
